Project Legacy

project-legacy.png

Project Legacy is a program that collects knitted, crocheted or woven shawls for patients undergoing end of life care at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA

These shawls provide warmth and comfort to patients and their loved ones as part of end of life care. Ultimately, the shawls go home with the family as a keepsake.
Use any pattern of your choice. It should be large enough to go around the shoulders, approximately 60-74” wide and 15-20” deep.
Finished shawls should be washed, blocked, and put into zip lock bags with care instructions enclosed as well as fiber content of the yarn. The ball band from the yarn would give all this information.
There is a particular need for shawls for men and red, white and blue shawls for Military veterans.
Shawls can be knit, crocheted or woven. Please include fiber content.

The Knittin' Coop is a drop off point for all Shawls & lapghans to be distributed by Project Legacy. You can also drop off at Wool Workshop in Roanoke and Stitch Witch in Bedford, VA.
